Paper Cranes

Friday April 15, 2011

In March after March break, we made paper cranes. We read a story about a girl named Sadako and then we made cranes. When we made cranes we gave them to Mrs.Dressel's mother so she could take them to church. I thought making cranes was fun but hard too. The story we read was called Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes. Sadako got really sick so she had to make 1000 paper cranes for good luck and so she can get better but it was too late. I like making paper cranes a lot now.

PAPER CRANES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At school we read a book called Sadako and the 1000 Paper Cranes. She had a disease from the nuclear bomb in Japan a long time ago. Her friend told her that if she made 1000 paper cranes she would get a wish from god. She worked harder and harder every day but one day she did not make 1000 paper cranes and she passed away. Now in Tokyo there is a staue of Sadako and every Peace Day kids and adults make paper cranes and put them on her staue. After we read the book our class decided to make some paper cranes. We also made some paper cranes for Mrs.Dressel to give to her parents to decorate for a special lunch. We had so much fun making paper cranes!!

BASKETBALL!!

Hi, our names are Gracee, Alyssa and Taylor and we made the junior girls basketball team. We have played 2 games. Taylor has been a number 2 and 3 for both games, Gracee has been a 3 and Alyssa has been a 1 and a 4. Playing has been really fun but on Wednesday we played aganist Odessa and they were all very tall and they were like giants to us. Then on Thursday we played Horton. The good thing was that they were all the same size as us. Now on Saturday we have a tournament. We plan to win all the games. If we don't win thats ok because we know that we will always try our best.

The first game we played was really exciting for us because we all got a basket and it was our FIRST game!
