Track and Field at LaSalle
Yesterday was really fun! I went to LaSalle School for a track and field meet. There were a lot of Perth Road people there. All together there were 46 P.R.P.S. people. We were all outside for the whole day, it was really hot!!! The events that I was in was 100m. long jump and relay. For 100m. heat I came 2nd and for the finals I came 4th. In long Jump I came 7th out of like 40 people. And for relay I came 2nd. My relay team is Taylor, Rhianna, Shelby and I. Taylor ran #2, Shelby ran # 1, Rhianna ran #4 and I ran # 3. Out of the whole thing I got 2 ribbons. It was really cool because Brittany in our school got a silver medal which means she came 2nd out of the whole thing. It was a really great day!!!!

Trip to Queen's
On Tuesday June 7 Ms Jordan and Mrs Dressel's class went to Queen's sports day. Our favourite sport was racquetball. Racquetball is a sport that you hit a super bouncy ball against a wall. It is like squash except squash has a non bouncy balls and they are black. Squash balls are smaller than a racquetball. We had 4 people in each court. Our court had 5 people and it was fun because we got to play racquetball.

QUEENS SPORTS DAY !!!!
QUEENS sports day!!!!
On Tuesday June 7 our class went to Queen's University for a sports day. The events that we did were racquet ball, martial arts, swimming, badminton, field hockey, and fencing. The first thing that we did when we got off the bus was we met our instructor named Emily. Then we went to our locker room and put our bags in our locker. The first sport was our favourite sport (see picture down below) the sport was called racquet ball. It was sooooooo FUN!!!!!! We got into groups of 3 or 4 and we were in this little room and we had goggles and a racquetball (very bouncy!!) We were on a team with Taylor Acorn, Gracee Fillion and Alyssa Campbell. The object of the game was to hit the ball on the wall and hit it back but it can bounce only once on the ground. The 2nd thing that we did was called Martial arts. We learned fancy kicks and punches. Then they got out a dumby and a punching mat and we punched the mat and kicked the dumby. After we all got a turn we played a game called FLAGS. We all got a piece of ribbon and put it on our shorts and if some one took it off of your shorts you have to go and sit down. Then we went to the swimming pool. They had a really high high dive. We all went on it like, 4 times. If you look up at a roof it was probably higher than that!!! We had to do this swim test and we swam for a long time without touching the bottom. But it was all worth it! After we jumped we went to the swimming part and had races with each other. Once we were done having races we went in to the shallow end and played. Then we had to go and get changed for field hockey we played pinnies VS shirts we had a lot of fun playing it !! Then we went to the gym to start fencing.
We got dressed for it and we began. we had swords with duct tape on the end so we didn't hurt anyone, (we were wearing helmets). It was outrageously fun!!

Sports day at Queen's University
On Tuesday June 7th Mrs. Dressel's grade 4 class went to Queen's University for sports day. We did lots of activities like: Fencing, Field hockey, swimming, badminton and racquetball. When it was time for us to do field hockey the grass was fake which made it feel really cool. Taylor and I were both on the shirt team and we were against the pinney team. It was really fun using field hockey sticks because they are pretty different compared to hockey sticks. For most people it was their first time playing. when it was time for swimming we had to do a swim test to be able to go to the dive tank. The diving boards were so much fun!! When we played racquetball you had to try not to hit the ball to high up but I am pretty sure everyone hit it above the red line a couple times. I loved that game!!!! We also did karate and we learned blocks and punches and kicks it was really fun! The person that was teaching us was really good at karate!! He could jump and kick at the same time!! WOW!!! When we did fencing we had to put on all the heavy gear and it was all white. Our weapons had plastic tips at the end so no one would get hurt when they were fencing against other people. It was a really fun day and everyone loved it. I hope we go back next year!

Queen's sports camp
On Tuesday June th 2o11 we went to Queen's Sports Camp and the first event was racquetball. On our team it was Rhianna, Malaina, Emma and Megan. It was a lot of fun. We all got to serve the ball. The teams were all in different courts and it was a lot of fun and easy. The next sport we did was martial arts. The Master was Kyle. He was good at martial arts. We learned two different punches, blocks and kicks. The punches were called jab punches. We also learned a jump kick. It was hard. Then we went SWIMMING. IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In the pool I went in the shallow end and Malaina went in the deep end and she went off the diving board. The lunch room was messy but we got free Fruitopia. We thanked the janitor for cleaning up the floors and we headed down to the gym to play Badminton. The next sport we did was badminton and I was playing with Sarah,Cole, and Emma. On Malaina`s team it was Rhianna, Malaina, William and Thomas. Then we did Field hockey and we got to take a walk to the field. At the end we had no idea who won. Then my favourite... ... Fencing!! We had to put on these weird clothes, but it was worth it. I wish we could do it again.
